Entry criteria

Entry criteria

The Executive MBA is for students who have completed our Senior Leadership Apprenticeship Level 7 or PG Diploma in a business and management-related field (subject to checks) from another institution and now wish to top-up their qualification to an MBA.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each band (or equivalent) when you start the course is essential.

English language tuition, delivered by our British Council-accredited Centre for English Language Learning, is available both before and throughout the course if you need it.

Structure and assessment

You will study one 60-credit module.

The module provides an opportunity to address a current business issue, challenge or problem in your organisation (where possible). You will achieve this by conducting an independent work-related project based on critical research and professional enquiry, using primary and/or secondary data, analysis and research methods, resulting in recommendations for future practice.

An alternative research project will be made available if your employer does not wish you to conduct research within your organisation or for students who may be in between employment.

This module involves two assessed reports:

  • Report 1 (30%): A 2,000-word critical examination of the research and professional enquiry methods applied in your project.
  • Report 2 (70%): An 8,000-word report detailing the execution and findings of your work-related research project within an organisational context.

Note: All modules are indicative and based on the current academic session. Course information is correct at the time of publication and is subject to review. Exact modules may, therefore, vary for your intake in order to keep content current. If there are changes to your course we will, where reasonable, take steps to inform you as appropriate.
